Rules for Weekly Meetings, Events and Functions
- Weekly meetings will be held on Monday nights starting at 7.00pm and finishing at 10.00pm.
- An entry fee (except for persons under the age of sixteen) must be paid upon entry to weekly meetings and family days. Payment is required for all members and non-members whether you are performing or not.
- The hall must be kept and left in a neat and tidy condition.
- The equipment will be set up prior to the commencement time and packed away at the conclusion of the meeting. Anyone who is capable is requested to help.
- An attendance and payment record will be kept (usually by the Treasurer) for all in attendance of weekly meetings and family days. Attendance may also be recorded for members performing at other events and functions (usually by the Secretary).
- Each person is allotted two (2) songs. All songs must be 'Country' in theme or attitude. The committee will decide at the next committee meeting, whether songs are acceptable and/or fall into the 'Country' genre. A medley is considered as one (1) song; however it should be kept to no more than 4 minutes.
- Anyone wishing to perform must enter their name on the performers’ list. The list is usually set up on a white board or a chalk board. You must be in attendance before your name can be placed on the performers’ list.
- Performers will have their turn in a sequential order to that on the performers’ list. After all performers on the performers’ list have performed their two songs, each person will be allotted additional songs (the number to be decided by the President). After all allotments have been completed and if time permits, the president may also allow some free time.
- To minimise time wastage, all performers must be ready to go on stage when it is their turn by taking notice of the name of the person before them. This also includes the setting up of instruments (i.e. tuning etc). If you are not ready you may miss your turn.
- All performers who require the band must supply at least three (3) chorded charts. If charts need chording or transposing it must be done before you go on stage and not at the time you are about to perform.
- If a performer requests another member to accompany them please note it on the performers’ list against your name. If a performer accompanies another (i.e. supports someone else’s performance) their allotted songs are not effected (This includes duets where both performers have equal vocal time).
- No more than one of each type of instrument is to be on stage at any one time e.g. Bass, Rhythm, and Lead guitar etc. If you wish to play along with the band you are welcome to do so, but please do not plug in. Please try to share the amount of time you play a particular instrument on stage with other musicians wanting to play the same type of instrument.
- If you are using your own amplifier please respect the person who is performing and set the volume at an appropriate level. Remember the vocal is the most important part of the performance and the instruments are there to accompany the vocal not drown it out.
- Only use side access to the stage area and use the bridge when it is in place. Except for the Sound Desk Operator only when making necessary adjustments to inputs, microphones and music stands etc. To avoid damage to equipment and possible injury to yourselves, please do not step on or walk across cables.
- Do not enter the stage area to set up equipment or to play an instrument while someone is already performing. If you wish to play along you must be on stage before the song starts.
- Sound equipment must only be operated by the allotted sound desk operator including the file-back (monitor) speakers. It is not to be touched or interfered with by any other person.
- Anyone who is intoxicated will not be allowed on stage whether performing or not.
- Abusive behaviour and bad language will not be tolerated (You may be asked to leave).
- Children must be supervised by an adult at all times.
- Club equipment must not be used for anything other than club activities.
- All complaints must be in writing, dated and signed, then either posted or handed to the club Secretary or President.
Sanctioned by the Camden Valley Country Music Club Committee on 11 June 2008. (Issue 2).
